I had never heard of theologians or their writings, church history, theological approaches, differences among various denominations, or extracanonical literature such as apocrypha and pseudepigrapha. At that time, I was simply a lay Christian who was devoted to serving God. However, I was then called by God and gained pastoral recommendations to study at HKBTS. <em><strong>The theological training I have received in the past three years has allowed me to experience how great and awesome the Lord is and to become a more knowledgeable servant. <\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>The Rich Wisdom of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000During the past three years, I have been touched countless times in the <em>lectio divina<\/em> meetings by the Lord\u2019s glory as described by saints throughout the ages. Countless times I have been amazed by the richness of the Christian faith as discussed by different theologians. All these experiences have allowed me to better understand the Lord\u2019s greatness, which transcends time and space. On one occasion, in particular, I deeply experienced my own transformation by the Holy Spirit. <\/p>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000When I studied a course on Deuteronomy two years ago, my impression of the book remained superficial; I thought that it was just a boring and lengthy book. When the teacher instructed us to write an exegetical paper about it, I planned to hastily complete such a boring assignment by making references to a few commentaries only. I still remember we were asked to study the levirate marriage mentioned in just six verses in Deuteronomy (Dt 25:5-10). However, owing to my own feelings of boredom with the assignment, I kept procrastinating, which put me under greater and greater stress as the deadline neared. <\/p>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Soon, it was only two days before the deadline. Leaning back on the chair, faced with a blank word file, a couple of commentaries, and several academic articles, I kept asking God, \u201cLord, it\u2019s just six verses! What keeps me from writing to explain them?\u201d To my surprise, after 15 minutes, when I was staring at those commentaries, tears welled up in my eyes. My heart was filled with surging admiration: Why were so many Bible scholars driven to discuss these six verses in such lengthy studies? As a result, I could not stop reading, up to 15 articles, throughout the night, all concerning the explanation of those few verses. That day, I kept praying fervently, repenting for looking down on God\u2019s word. <em><strong>Starting from that moment, I could not stop the desire to share with others: God\u2019s word is rich and His understanding is infinite. <\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>God Called My Name<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000What amazed me more was that God not only let me experience the wonder of His word, but also made me truly realize the deepest calling of this Wonderful Counselor in my life. Before studying at the seminary, I had little feeling about my name. \u201cWai-ying\u201d is just a way others refer to me and I am an ordinary individual. When my parents named me \u201cWai-ying,\u201d they wished I would become a clever child, with such rich (<em>Ying<\/em>) wisdom (<em>Wai<\/em>) that it resembled a vessel overflowing with wisdom. However, I barely managed my studies in the past, failing to live up to my parents\u2019 expectations. This was a reason why I had developed a kind of remoteness to my own name. I remember the time when I shared my calling with my pastor, I read a number of books about how to discern God\u2019s calling and coincidentally those books all began with the same theme\u2013how God calls you. At that time, I kept meditating on my name many times, praying and asking God, and yet, without any inspiration. Finally, I chose to set the matter aside. <\/p>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000However, during the three years of my seminary study, I was stunned by God\u2019s infinite wisdom again and again, and similarly, I kept wishing I would become truly \u201crich\u201d in \u201cwisdom.\u201d The Bible, God\u2019s Word, is really so rich that I persistently wished to go deeper in its study and understand it more. I also wanted to proclaim to others the greatness and wonders of God and when I did so, I found that it was the moment I enjoyed the greatest freedom and could become myself. She was simply a layperson who served zealously in the church, called by the Lord, and recommended by her pastor to study Baptismal Theology. Therefore, these three years of theological training have allowed her to experience the greatness of the Lord more deeply\u2014how awe-inspiring He is! The wisdom of the Lord&#039;s Word is abundant. During these three years, she was repeatedly moved by the descriptions of this glorious Lord by believers throughout history in prayer meetings, and repeatedly marveled at the rich discussions of Christian faith by different theologians. All of this allowed her to experience the timeless greatness of the Lord. On one occasion, she experienced even deeper transformation by the Holy Spirit. Two years ago, she studied Deuteronomy. At that time, her impression of Deuteronomy was still that of a &quot;distressed and lengthy book.&quot; Our teacher assigned each of us to write an exegetical essay. I had originally planned to consult a few exegetical books and hastily complete that tedious assignment. I remember the assignment required us to study the &quot;law of marriage between the deceased husband&#039;s brothers&quot; (Deuteronomy 25:5-10), which only occupied six verses in Deuteronomy. However, I was overwhelmed by that feeling of unease and couldn&#039;t bring myself to write. The approaching deadline added to the increasing pressure. Two days before the deadline, I sat slumped in my chair, facing a blank file, three or four exegetical books, and several academic articles, repeatedly asking the Lord: &quot;Lord, why can&#039;t I even begin to explain those mere six verses?&quot; Unexpectedly, after fifteen minutes, as I looked at those exegetical books, my eyes filled with tears, and a surge of admiration welled up from the bottom of my heart: How could such a mere six verses have inspired so many biblical scholars to discuss it at such length! In the end, I couldn&#039;t help but read nearly fifteen articles that night, all interpretations of those few verses. That day, I prayed earnestly, repenting for daring to disregard God&#039;s word. From that moment on, I could no longer resist sharing with others how rich God&#039;s word is, how unfathomable His wisdom is! Even more astonishing is that God not only allowed me to experience the wonder of His word, but also made me truly realize the deepest calling of this wondrous counselor in my life. Before entering seminary, I had no particular feeling about my name; &quot;Huiying&quot; was merely a name given to me by others. My parents named me &quot;Huiying,&quot; hoping I would become a bright child, possessing abundant wisdom, like a vessel overflowing. Unfortunately, my academic performance from childhood to adulthood did not meet my parents&#039; expectations, which made me always feel a strange distance from my name. After sharing my calling experience with a pastor, I read several books on discerning one&#039;s calling. The first chapter of each book invariably revolved around the same theme\u2014how the Lord calls your name. At that time, I meditated on my name several times, praying and questioning it, but still felt no response, and eventually I could only let it \u4e0a\u4e3b\u547c\u559a\u6211\u7684\u540d\u5b57
