He serves the Lord attentively and wholeheartedly. He has been a voluntary treasurer for the church for 30 years, and participated in various ministries, including Sunday school, a training union, extension of the original premise and missionary ministries. Since 1996, he has also actively supported the scholarship and bursary of HKBTS. Deacon Wan was in the public construction industry for 40 years and retired 15 years ago. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>Exemplary Predecessors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Ten years ago in 2009, Mrs. Celia Lam Juergens of HKBTS invited Deacon Wan to join the President\u2019s Council. Deacon Wan and his wife prayed together that night, and he accepted the invitation the following day. In fact, when Deacon Wan was younger, he wished to be trained in a seminary, but was not able to do so due to his concerns for his family and work at the time. He feels deeply committed to theological education. Deacon Wan sees being able to serve in the President\u2019s Council as a fulfillment to his wishes. <\/p>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000The late Deacon Chan Sai-ying, chairman of the Deacon Board, Kowloon City Baptist Church has also left an impression on him for his lifelong faithfulness to and love of the Lord. Deacon Chan had gone all out for God, with no complaints nor regrets; he also strongly supported theological education and was an example to Deacon Wan. Seeing other members serving and committing themselves in the President\u2019s Council for years, even more senior than himself, Deacon Wan is moved and has deep appreciation for their efforts. These predecessors became his motivation to continue in his ministry. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>Responding to God\u2019s Love<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Deacon Wan has been in the President\u2019s Council for ten years, offering his expertise and advice for the seminary. During his service in the Council, he has been able to listen to the opinions of various church leaders coming from different backgrounds. He credits these kinds of thought provoking reflections with broadening his horizons. Deacon Wan thinks that education itself is important and theological education particularly so. He suggests that HKBTS should further promote itself, so that not only do churches get to know the seminary, and to have expectations of the seminary, but they also will offer support to the seminary in response to God\u2019s love. <\/p>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Deacon Wan appreciates the harmonious fellowship within the President\u2019s Council. Even though its members are from various churches, with each of them bearing different aspirations, backgrounds and ideas, they all have something in common \u2013 <em><strong>all of them are experienced members of Baptist churches; in order to respond to God\u2019s love, they all hope to better HKBTS so that the seminary could be used by God; they also encourage more believers to become a part of HKBTS and support the seminary financially<\/em><\/strong>. Therefore, even though they may have different opinions, they are able to accept each other and collaborate harmoniously. Deacon Wan further hopes that such harmonious, collaborative relationships can continue. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>Light of the Age<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Deacon Wan thinks that HKBTS practices the Bible\u2019s command of 3T (namely <strong>t<\/strong>rain the <strong>t<\/strong>rainee to be a <strong>t<\/strong>rainer), that is to \u201centrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also\u201d (2 Tm 2:2 ESV), and has trained a lot of students to be God\u2019s servants for His kingdom, preparing them well for the good fight. HKBTS also has a beautiful campus with great surroundings; the faculty of HKBTS also possess excellent spirituality with great academic achievements, and yet they are also attentive to individual students; they nurture their aspirations so that students may put their gifts into good use and be greatly used by God in the future. He also strongly supported theological education, which left a deep impression on Deacon Wen and became a role model for him to follow. He suggested that &quot;HKTS&quot; can strengthen publicity, not only to let the churches know about the seminary and have expectations for the seminary, but also to let them have a sense of responsibility for the seminary and give to the seminary in order to respond to God&#039;s love. Deacon Wen appreciates the harmonious fellowship of the &quot;Dean&#039;s Council&quot;. Although the members come from different churches, their mindsets, backgrounds, and philosophies are different, they all have something in common: they are all senior Baptist members. In order to respond to God&#039;s love, they hope to run &quot;BTS&quot; well, make the college useful to the Lord, and encourage more believers to become &quot;BTS people&quot; and support the college financially. Therefore, even if everyone has different opinions, they can accept each other and live in harmony. Deacon Wen hopes that this harmonious cooperative relationship of the Senate can continue. The light of the times Deacon Wen believes that &quot;BTS&quot; practices the Bible&#039;s 3T command (train the trainee to be a trainer), that is, to teach &quot;those who are faithful and able to teach others&quot; (2 Timothy 2:2), and has cultivated many servants of God for the kingdom of God and equipped them well to fight the good fight. In addition, &quot;BTS&quot; not only has a beautiful campus and a beautiful environment, but also the teachers of &quot;BTS&quot; are all beautiful spirituality and high academic achievements. The teachers also care for the students individually and cultivate their minds so that they can exert their gifts and be used by God in the future. Finally, Deacon Wen hopes that BTS can become a \u201cbeacon of the times\u201d, shining for God and guiding people in the right \u6642\u4ee3\u7684\u660e\u71c8 \u3000\u3000\u6eab\u57f7\u4e8b\u8a8d\u70ba\uff0c\u300c\u6d78\u795e\u300d\u5be6\u8e10\u8457\u8056\u7d933T\u7684\u5429\u5490\uff08train the trainee to be a
