My first impression of HKBTS was of peaceful tranquility and cleanliness. The sea-facing seminary reminded me of a large ship on the shore, ready to embark on a long voyage at any moment. It was such a gorgeous view that it exceeded all my expectations. Dreaming about a splendid future, I prayed to God in such a beautiful scene, committing my next two and a half years of student life to Him.<\/p><h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>Three Touching Lessons<\/strong><\/h3><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000Time really flies. Before I realized, I had spent two and a half years full of God&#8217;s grace and blessings here. I owe much to God&#8217;s guidance and help for the successful completion of my study. There are three things about HKBTS that have touched my heart dearly.<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000<em><strong>The first is that it has revived my spirituality. <\/strong><\/em>After graduating from Nanjing Union Theological Seminary in 2006, I ministered in the church for ten years until 2016. The year 2015 was a spiritual low point in my life of ministry and I felt I was out of my depth. Though I still managed to perform my duties in the church, the physical and mental fatigue was so overwhelming that I desperately needed to find somewhere to rest. God listened to my prayers and led me to the loving, big family of HKBTS. He renewed my strength with HKBTS: my spirituality was not only revived but also improved.<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000<em><strong>The second is that it has broadened my vision. <\/strong><\/em> HKBTS\u2019 missions of <em>theologia<\/em>, hospitality, disciple community, spiritual care, Christian education, servant-leader, practical theology, etc. have impressed me for life. The practical theology advocated by President Cho is the <em>theologia<\/em> of discerning the mind of Jesus Christ. <em>Theologia<\/em> will materialize in areas including preaching, mission, pastoral care, and Christian education, helping us to act according to Jesus\u2019 thoughts, feelings, and examples when we practice, live, witness, and teach. \u201cLove\u201d should be the most important principle in our relationship with God and others. These ideas have had a lasting influence on me. With their profound knowledge of theology, teachers of various subjects have greatly broadened my vision.<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000<em><strong>The third is that it has strengthened my faith. <\/strong><\/em> HKBTS places great importance on developing a disciple community and emphasizes that teachers should be competent as well as virtuous. Thus, it means that in this \u201congoing learning\u201d community, students are taught by teachers as disciples or apprentices. The character of a student is hugely influenced by the character of the teacher. I have benefited a lot from this kind of education.<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000\u201cIf one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.\u201d (1Cor 12:26) At HKBTS, I have experienced the truthfulness of this Bible quote. In 2017 during my fourth semester, I was facing huge academic stress; and my teachers and classmates offered generous help in the most difficult period in my study. In March 2017, when my father suffered from acute appendicitis, they also offered support and prayed for us. It was my teachers and classmates at HKBTS who weathered the storm with me.<\/p><h3 class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color: #235ba8; font-size: 24px;\"><strong>A Turning Point in my Life<\/strong><\/h3><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000HKBTS has been a turning point in my life. God has helped me reorient my ministry work through the teachings and examples of the teachers at the seminary and mutual support among students. I now have a closer relationship both with God and with people. Equally important is that the seminary has reshaped my understanding of the doctrine of church and made me re-examine my duties as a church minister. Therefore I would like to express my gratitude to HKBTS, to the President, to my teachers, classmates, and all the staff. I always felt powerless. Although I served in the church step by step as usual, the fatigue of my body, mind and spirit was indescribable. I was eager to find a place to rest and adjust myself to recharge. God is a God who loves to listen to prayers. He answered my prayers and led me to the warm family of &quot;HKTS&quot;. God re-energized me through HKTS - my spiritual life was not only revived, but also sublimated. Secondly, it broadened my vision. The school philosophy advocated by HKTS: &quot;theological wisdom&quot;, &quot;earnest hospitality&quot;, &quot;disciple community&quot;, &quot;spiritual care&quot;, &quot;Christian education&quot;, &quot;servant leadership&quot;, &quot;practical theology&quot;, etc., left an indelible mark in my heart. President Cao&#039;s understanding of &quot;practical theology&quot; is the &quot;theological wisdom&quot; (theologia) that discerns the heart of Jesus Christ. This is specifically implemented in different fields such as preaching, missions, pastoral care, and Christian education, helping us to practice, live, witness, and teach with the thoughts, feelings, and examples of Jesus Christ, and to take &quot;love&quot; as the most important norm and implement it in our relationship with God and people. This has a profound impact on me. The theological attainments of teachers in various subjects have greatly broadened my horizons. Third, it has strengthened my faith (Faith). &quot;Baptist Theological Seminary&quot; attaches great importance to cultivating a group of disciples and emphasizes that teachers must have both ability and character; that is, students receive disciple-like and apprentice-like education from teachers in the &quot;student&quot; group, and the students&#039; character is influenced and shaped by the teacher&#039;s character, and life affects life. \u3000\u3000\u5176\u4e09\uff0c\u5805\u5b9a\u4e86\u6211\u7684\u4fe1\u5fc3\uff08Faith\uff09\u3002\u300c\u6d78\u795e\u300d\u91cd\u8996\u57f9\u80b2\u9580\u5f92\u7fa4\u9ad4\uff0c\u5f37\u8abf\u5e2b\u5085\u5fc5\u9808\u517c\u5177\u80fd\u529b\u8207\u54c1\u683c\uff1b\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u8aaa\uff0c\u5b78\u751f\u65bc\u300c\u5728\u5b78\u300d\u7684\u7fa4\u9ad4\u4e2d\uff0c\u5f97\u8457\u8001\u5e2b\u9580\u5f92\u5f0f\u3001\u5b78\u5f92\u5f0f\u7684\u6559\u80b2\uff0c\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u54c1\u683c\u53d7\u8001\u5e2b\u7684\u54c1\u683c\u6240\u85b0\u9676\u3001\u5851\u9020\uff0c\u4ee5\u751f\u547d\u5f71\u97ff\u751f\u547d\u3002\u9019\u4f7f\u6211\u7372\u76ca\u532a\u6dfa\u3002
