While resting in her hospital bed, she asked us to play the hymn \u201cHow Great Thou Art.\u201d As we worshipped our Heavenly Father together, my mother\u2014despite her intense physical pain\u2014immediately sensed God\u2019s presence. Her heart was filled with hope. Just a few days later, God called her home to heaven. During my time of grief, I continually experienced God\u2019s comfort through Laura Story\u2019s hymn \u201cBlessings.\u201d Here are some lines from the hymn that deeply moved me:<\/p><blockquote><p>Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things. <br \/>And when darkness seems to win, <br \/>we know the pain reminds this heart<br \/>that this is not, this is not our home. <br \/>And what if trials of this life, <br \/>the rain, the storms, the hardest nights, <br \/>are Your mercies in disguise?<\/p><\/blockquote><p>\u00a0<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">These lyrics gave me insight into eternity and reminded me that the Lord is in control and I must choose to trust Him because He loves me and my family. God never gives us challenges for which He has not already prepared us.<\/p><p align=\"\u201cjustify\u201d\">\u3000\u3000I am sure many others have had such experiences. God offers us help, peace, and comfort through hymns. I once sang a hymn to a brother in Christ who was suffering from dementia. Even though his brain was failing, the hymn I sang at that time did awaken that seemingly \u201cdisappearing\u201d brother. I have experienced the power of hymns many times. I thank the Lord for blessing us with hymns that draw us near to Him and enable us to worship Him genuinely from the depth of our hearts and souls.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grace Lee, HKBTS Alumni Choir member. These lyrics give me insight into eternity, reminding me that the Lord is still in control and that I must choose to continue to trust Him because He loves me and my family. He will not give us things that are useless. I believe others have similar experiences. God provides help, peace, and comfort through song. I once sang hymns to a Christian brother with dementia. Although his brain function was declining, the hymns I sang that time truly awakened this brother who seemed to be &quot;fading away.&quot; I experienced the power of song. Thank you, Lord, for song, so that we can connect with Him: to praise and worship Him in truth with our hearts and emotions. \u539f\u4f86\u80cc\u5f8c\u85cf\u8457\u7962\u7684\u6069\u5178\u548c\u6190\u61ab\u3002
