Interview with Rev. Ip King-tak. Alumnus Ip King-tak serves as a voluntary internship supervisor in our college and just returned to school last month to deliver a special lecture. He has been on the road to ministry for more than 20 years. In 1984, when he was about to complete the Master of Divinity program at the Baptist College, he had already started working as the Liaison Officer for Christian Student Activities in the Chaplaincy Office of Hong Kong Baptist College. Three years later, he applied for a leave of absence and went to the United States to study for a master's degree in theology. One year after graduation, he continued to study in the UK. Unexpectedly, after obtaining his doctorate there, he would return to this institution to teach. Wong Wing-ki (M.Div. 1) is grateful that she attended a Catholic school and had the opportunity to listen to Bible stories since she was a child. When I was a child, I simply believed that there was a Creator in this world. I also heard the story of Jesus’ salvation and always wanted to know more about God. However, I didn’t have any Christian friends around me and didn’t have many opportunities to learn more. It was not until middle school that God allowed me to meet a Christian teacher who loved the Lord fervently. He shared the gospel with me, took me to church, and eventually I was converted to Christ at a sermon at the age of fifteen. Since then, I have developed a personal relationship with God and a stable church life. ...
