General Collection |
Both English and Chinese books in the library are classified by the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme and separately shelved by their call numbers. |
Reference Collection |
The Reference Collection, indicated by a prefix "R" on the call number, includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, Bible commentaries, atlases, bibliographies, handbooks, etc. |
Reserve Collection |
Books or other materials requested by faculty may be put in the Reserve Collection for short-term loan. These items are located behind the circulation counter and available for loan upon request. |
Periodicals and Newspapers Collection |
Current periodicals and newspapers are displayed on the periodical racks and newspaper stand. Back issues are kept inside the periodical racks or shelved as bound volumes. Periodicals are not available for loan. |
Mobile Shelving Collection |
Some rarely used English old books, marked as "Mobile", are kept in the mobile shelving units for check out. |
Audio-Visual Collection |
The AV Collection includes over 13,000 pieces of audio & video cassettes, CD, LP, VCD, DVD, kits and games. |
Thesis Collection |
The library keeps a collection of 230 theses written by professors and graduates for users' reference |
Electronic Resources |
Six full-text, online electronic databases containing 35,800 English books and 1,280 journal titles with more than 2.7 million records are available for users' access. A huge number of CD-ROM titles covering a wide range of research topics can also be found in the library. |

Hong Kong Baptist Archive |
In order to promote the study of Baptists in Hong Kong, publications such as reports of the Baptist Convention and local Baptist churches, sermons and biographies of Baptist pastors, as well as historical records (photos, posters, etc.) of the Seminary are kept in a special area in the library. |
