Humble Oneself and Work with Others

Ho Ching-man M.Div. Student I remember that in my first year, teachers and seniors encouraged us to take elective classes taught by other teachers in addition to the required courses, so that we could learn from each teacher’s expertise in the Bible, theological thought, and practical subjects. I hoped that in addition to enriching my knowledge, I could also broaden my faith horizons through the experiences of different teachers. Over the past two years, in addition to studying subjects taught by a single teacher in his or her specialized field, I also had the opportunity to attend some classes that adopted "collaborative teaching", namely "Preaching", "Introduction to Pastoral Care and Counseling" and "Pastoral Leadership and Ministry". All three subjects belong to the category of practical theology. ...

How Do I Learn to “Do Theology”?

Theology is important to the Christian community because it concerns how we know God and how we know others around us. ...

However, as I grew up, I also went through a period of doubting my faith (for example, why do some people who call themselves Christians do such terrible things? Why does God allow them to do so? Why can't I understand God with logic?). But thank God, He helped me overcome all this with "faith" and made me understand that God is the truth and is above logic; and God is love. He even gave us his only son Jesus as a ransom, so how can He be untrustworthy? ...
