Speak, for Your Servant Is Listening

Wong Pak-ming, a first-year Master of Divinity student (M.Div. 1), finally took the first step. "The Lord came and stood there, as he had called three times before, 'Samuel, Samuel!' And Samuel answered, 'Speak, for your servant is listening!'" (1 Samuel 3:10). Many years ago, I heard a pastor recount Samuel's experience in a sermon. At the time, I thought: If God called me, I would also willingly and gladly say, "Here I am, for your servant is listening!" Years later, I still have a deep impression of that thought. Perhaps from that moment on, God placed a "I am willing" heart in my life. ...
