Brothers and sisters entered the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary (HKBTS) to equip themselves for better service to God. What hardships and joys have they experienced during their studies at the seminary? What difficulties and blessings have they encountered? What thoughts and reflections do they have? Samuel Yip (M.Div.) The missionary journey The year I entered the seminary, I was moved and began to have a burden for missionary work. After receiving confirmation, I raised my hand in tears to respond to the call at the missionary meeting; the tears were not from sadness, but because I saw the urgent needs in the missionary field. On the one hand, I am becoming more and more certain that God wants to send me on a missionary journey, and on the other hand, I am studying theology full-time; the two are not one at the expense of the other, but rather complement each other. The Best Reward for Life’s Impermanence

I still remember that at the end of 2014, facing the social situation, I prayed and asked Heavenly Father how to shepherd His sheep, especially the college and early career youth who were the hardest hit. Heavenly Father inspired me to study His word in depth, and to walk with those brothers and sisters who are in suffering with His grace and promises. So, I entered this master's degree program in theology with the concepts of "suffering", "the Father's words", and "pastoral care". ...
