Walking with the LORD

Dr. Wong Fook Kong, Joshua 3:9-17 God Walks with Us. The Book of Joshua is an Old Testament book about new beginnings. After forty years of wandering in the wilderness, the Israelites finally reached the border of the Promised Land. When the future seemed so uncertain, God demonstrated His continued presence with them, as seen in the miracle of Israel's crossing of the Jordan (chaps. 3-4). This miracle announced to everyone that the God who parted the Red Sea had now arrived in Canaan! God's subsequent appearance to Joshua served a similar purpose (5:13-15), and finally, the miraculous fall of the walls of Jericho also served to demonstrate God's presence. The Israelites' seven-day march around the city corresponded to the Feast of Unleavened Bread: after the first Passover, they had left Egypt; now, after the first Feast of Unleavened Bread in Canaan, they conquered the first city in Canaan. ...

Diamond Jubilee Celebration

From 1951 to 2011, "Baptism" has come a long way. Perhaps we can no longer count the number of steps we have run over the past sixty years, but we know that every step is the grace of the Lord. The pillar of cloud during the day and the pillar of fire at night have never left us. This year, the college is holding a series of activities to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, with the theme of "Spreading Wings, Soaring, Faith, Hope, and Love." The college celebration is not to commend the college’s achievements. What it wants to clearly illustrate is how God’s power appears perfect within human limitations; it is how God’s glory is revealed to generations of workers who are called to serve; it is this Counting the days of the Lord’s grace inspires us to step forward, spread our wings in faith, hope, and love, and strive to cultivate a group of outstanding, humble, and capable heavenly workers for the Lord. ...

A Lingering Spiritual Urge

Cheung Ting (M.Div. 1) has been a Christian for twenty years, having escaped death in Alice Springs. I've always been passionate about ministry. Perhaps seeing my active involvement in evangelism, others often ask if I've considered becoming a preacher. I firmly deny it, as I don't feel God has such a calling for me. Furthermore, I'm obsessed with being a "strong woman," thinking that striving in the workplace and dedicating myself to ministry in my spare time is ideal. Therefore, I never considered becoming a preacher until a "miracle" occurred, and I heard God's call for the first time. ...
