Tony Sher (Assistant Professor of Old Testament) As I write this, the new academic year at the seminary begins. This is my first year teaching full-time at HKTS. Although I have participated in teaching at HKTS over the past two years, both were as a part-time adjunct lecturer. The day I become a full-time teacher also marks my farewell to the past decade of Bible translation work. Therefore, this is an appropriate time to reflect on the journey I have taken and the road ahead.

Lam Chi-ching (Graduate of the M.Div. Program) constantly struggles with the question: Did I mishear my calling? It's been four years since I entered seminary in 2006 to begin my theological training and graduate this year. Looking back on these four years, I've experienced many ups and downs. Changes in people and events around me have impacted me, creating numerous challenges in my theological career. I've often asked God, "Do I have the ability to complete the entire theological program?" and "Did I mishear my calling?" These inner struggles have recurred over the years, but God has repeatedly shown me His mercy through these struggles. He has continually strengthened my faith and reliance on Him, allowing me to gain a deeper appreciation for His faithfulness and mercy. ...

Lee Tin-wai (M.Div. 1) From a young age, I saw how real the God my parents served was. Born and raised in a Christian family, I was blessed by the Lord's grace. Going to church every Sunday and attending Sunday school were a lifestyle I'd known and embraced from a young age. My parents are preachers. Through their faith in God and their ministry, I've witnessed how God cares for and blesses our family. Although for many years our family relied solely on my father's salary, God always provided for us, ensuring we had no lack. Later, God led my father to pastor a church in Australia, and our family immigrated. Back in Australia, God miraculously provided enough money for my parents to buy a house—a house God had prepared for their retirement years. This demonstrates how complete God's provision is, surpassing all human expectations. These experiences have allowed me to witness firsthand from a young age the real God my parents serve. ...

Dr. Wong Fook Kong, Joshua 3:9-17 God Walks with Us. The Book of Joshua is an Old Testament book about new beginnings. After forty years of wandering in the wilderness, the Israelites finally reached the border of the Promised Land. When the future seemed so uncertain, God demonstrated His continued presence with them, as seen in the miracle of Israel's crossing of the Jordan (chaps. 3-4). This miracle announced to everyone that the God who parted the Red Sea had now arrived in Canaan! God's subsequent appearance to Joshua served a similar purpose (5:13-15), and finally, the miraculous fall of the walls of Jericho also served to demonstrate God's presence.
