A Lingering Spiritual Urge

Cheung Ting (M.Div. 1) has been a Christian for twenty years, having escaped death in Alice Springs. I've always been passionate about ministry. Perhaps seeing my active involvement in evangelism, others often ask if I've considered becoming a preacher. I firmly deny it, as I don't feel God has such a calling for me. Furthermore, I'm obsessed with being a "strong woman," thinking that striving in the workplace and dedicating myself to ministry in my spare time is ideal. Therefore, I never considered becoming a preacher until a "miracle" occurred, and I heard God's call for the first time. ...

How Hard It Is to Leave behind the Nets Immediately

Responses

In recent years, many theological schools in Hong Kong have successively launched doctorate in philosophy and pastoral ministry courses. I thought to myself: Why has it still not been long since the Baptist School launched a doctoral program? I believe this is also the expectation of many students, alumni, and pastors. Recently, I learned from a teacher that "Baptist God" will soon launch a doctoral program in theology. I am really grateful for the college and theological students, as well as the church and the pastor. For "Baptist", this marks the beginning of a new page in the college's important mission of cultivating church successors. I believe that the new curriculum will adhere to the teaching philosophy that the college has always valued, which is to combine teaching, research, and pastoral training. On the one hand, it will cultivate teaching talents who can devote themselves to theological education in the future. On the other hand, it will also improve the teaching and pastoral skills of in-service pastors. Maintain quality in ministry. ...

Walking on Nin Ming Road: Reflection on Education and Theological Education

A New Chapter

Au Siu-yin (M.Div.) Three years ago, in the midsummer, I began a new chapter in my life at Baptist Theological Seminary with trepidation. I entered seminary to be trained because my calling from God was clear, and I had a deep peace and assurance in my heart. However, since my home was quite far from the seminary, the daily commute to school was long and physically exhausting. Furthermore, having left school nearly twenty years ago, and considering my advanced age, reentering a new environment and pursuing a full-time program was a tremendous challenge. Furthermore, balancing my demanding studies with family life and church service was no easy feat. Looking back now, I can't fully recall how I navigated these challenges and pressures. I only know that God's grace remained unwavering throughout this period, and it only grew more abundant!
