If There Were No Hill Road Journal...

Wong Shun-shing Th.M. Student It would be a pity if there was no Sando Journal. "The Mountain Road" reveals the passion for learning of Baptist Theological Seminary teachers and scholars, as well as their love for the Chinese church. Each teacher and author has his or her own expertise. Some are well versed in theological doctrines, some delve into the New and Old Testaments, and some are good at ethical thinking. Reading The Mountain Road allowed me to enter their perspective and see the past, present, and future development possibilities of the theological world and the church through their eyes. ...

In-depth Faith Reflection and an Integration of Theology and Practice

Sin Kam-kong Conservative Baptist Missionary in Macau The Sands Journal is the latest research result and masterpiece of many theological experts. The Pain and Joy of Giving Birth

Nathan Ng Professor of Christian Thought (Church History) Publishing is like giving birth. When you first hear the good news of pregnancy, you always feel excited. The author began serving in Baptist Theological Seminary in early 2001, and by then several issues of the Shan Dao Journal, which was founded 20 years ago, had been published. Soon after I started teaching, I was fortunate to be invited to serve as the editor of the eleventh issue in 2003. It was my first time to receive, review and proofread manuscripts, and it was also the first time that a "discussion article" section was added to the journal. Although the work was challenging, it brought me joy. Since then, I have had the opportunity to edit three issues of the journal and write more than ten articles. My participation in journal publishing seems to have never stopped. In 2010, Dean Cao Weitong invited me to further serve as an editorial committee member. Since I have always been burdened by academic research, I gladly accepted the offer. ...

The Amazing Hill Road Journal

Wong Fook-kong Professor of Old Testament It is a great honour for me to serve on the editorial board of the Sandow Journal over the years. As the editor of a journal, I naturally hope that more and more people will read The Mountain Trail. But I was very surprised that an Australian Bible scholar asked me for the English version of an article I published in "The Mountain Road" two or three years ago. I guess it was one of his students (probably a Chinese student who came from Hong Kong to study there) who quoted my article and aroused his interest. It is really gratifying to know that fellow enthusiasts as far away as Australia are also reading "The Mountain Path". This is a testament to our efforts! At the same time, this also reminds us that we must continue to maintain the standard of "The Mountain Road". Seminary students will read The Mountain Way and quote from it in their lessons; similarly, their teachers and foreign colleagues may also enjoy reading it. ...

Hill Road Journal, Taking a Detour

Andres Tang Professor of Christian Thought (Theology and Culture) It is clear that Shan Dao Journal is an academic journal, but it is necessary to distinguish that academic journals are not necessarily out of touch with the world. Just as if there had not been the invention of pure mathematics like calculus, science, economics, and industrial engineering would probably not have developed to what they are today. "Sandway" is not a purely academic journal. Its ultimate goal is to serve the church community so that they can understand and practice their faith more broadly and deeply. ...

A Journey of Grace!

Lam Ka-hung (M.Div.) Lam Ka-hung and his wife In His Time In the blink of an eye, I finally completed the three-year Master of Divinity program and graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary! Looking back on the past few years, they were filled with laughter, sweat, friendship, reflection and growth of knowledge. I came with nothing and left with everything. I am always grateful in my heart. Just think about how blessed and gracious it is to have the opportunity to spend more than three years to receive theological training full-time and be built up in my faith life! Thank God for giving me this opportunity to quit my job, leave my familiar environment, enter a new field, and join a new group. Here I can experience the renewal and transformation of my life, allowing me to think deeply: What is the Christian faith? What's going on for me? ...
